Over time everyone goes through changes and I am no exception. Last year, during the summer months, was a difficult time for me and then it hit me like a ton of bricks. With the help of a very special person in my life I realized that I needed to make some drastic changes in my life and I am going to share with you my journey.

Comfort Zone
I saw this quote this morning and I just had to comment on it. My comfort zone. I'm laughing because it is at home with the doors and windows shut and only me in the house. I love staying at home, but I have learned that I have to go out. I told you all before that I am a bus driver so that makes me go out and since I started my Pampered Chef business over a year ago I have also been working on getting out of my comfort zone. I don't like to speak in front of people, I don't like the attention to be on me, and most of all I hate to talk on the phone. LOL major, ROTFLMBO. Talk about throwing yourself to the wolves. I do kitchen shows for a supplemental income, right now. However the company is moving along with the technology age. We have embraced social media and we do Facebook party/events. Man did that make me breath a sigh of relief, but, guess what, I have two kitchen shows this month and a vendor event in Norfolk. Well I guess I am stepping out again.
I have learned over the last year that being in front of a group of people, women and men, doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would and to tell the truth I am looking forward to my kitchen shows. I have calmed down a lot with those. Now I just have to work on the phone thing. I am supposed to contact my customers, via phone, to make sure they are using their products, see if they are satisfied with them, or just to check in on them. Afterall I don't know if they need anything unless I ASK them if they do. I am getting better at coming out of my comfort zone but it is taking baby steps.
One thing about this business is to make sure you have a great support system at home. My three girls, two are out of the house and one is at home, and my husband support me greatly. My husband has taken time to make a great investment in me, even if he doesn't really know what to say to pump me up, but he has made a huge financial investment. I know that he supports me because when I tell him that I have a Facebook party he says OK, and he goes and watches TV in the other room. When I have an in home party he says great and he never hesitates to help me load the car with my bag or bags. I love that I do have the support and I am happy that with God's help I am getting out of my comfort zone.
Happy Cooking,
Laura
